I’ve decided to be dependent on the Disqus comment system. I’m using it here on Dhampir Dreams, and aside from the Forum am using it on all content types on Darkscribes. It makes life easier on everyone and I can go and add things a bit easier I think if I decide to try to get the content there. Media module is setup and I think a bit more configureation it will be perfect. I just need to figure out how to create albums for personal galleries and the like. It’s still on going.

Rules module might lead me to finding the solution to the content upload module. I don’t know yet and I need some assistance from the Drupal community to get it done. I just haven’t been able to do anything yet as I still don’t understand WHAT I’m doing in some ways. For now I’m going to try to set it up so you can easily get to a content creation window for chapters and at least get it to add a chapter.

I’ve also been thinking on story ideas. Working on trying to get some of them out into text format and not in my head and it’s not working at times. My mind works them out, but my fingers don’t translate for some reason. Blocks like that suck worse then when you can’t come up with something if only cause you have it but you can’t get it written down. I hate it when that happens.

Popped in disc one of Babylon 5 season 1 today to relive some of my childhood and liked it. It was a good series, and it was a good five year run. I even liked the movies. It was just wonderful watching this again. I need to eventually get me some Star Trek on disk or Amazon instant video.

One story attacks the concept of a super intelligence like we’ve seen in popular media with such movies like Terminator with the AI Skynet, or the Matrix and things of that nature. But no one ever attacks the philosophical beyond the human aspect. The struggle to survive or the nature of what is real or not. Never the other interesting of thought. How would a new intelligence try to define it’s own existence.

One idea that will either end up in Spacial Anomalies has a race go into space and discover a long dead scientist from another race and his recordings. What would this do to a society or things of that nature. It’s fascinating to think of at times. What must go into this? What would this do to the characters? How would it affect them and the world around them?

We’ll see as I go on some of these ideas. Maybe even ramp up this year for NanoWriMo.

I also added some old content up, but nothing too major just yet. I’ve got some stuff to look through before posting. And some writing to do to get ideas out of my head. I think the next big thing I add will be some old screen shots of my desktops. Just to add something in images. I don’t know what else yet though, as it always seems to be a bit more difficult to create.

I’ve also been thinking in general about many things. I posted some of that earlier and I’ll probably start trying to find what interests me and share it more and more as time goes on.

I’ve got some ideas in my head for displaying certain content in the DS Dashboard for users. I’ll work on that on and off for the next few days as I try to get the legacy DB fixed and content navigation figured out. But getting the content in first and fixing structures for user is priority there.

Here I’m going to start posting some pages with some original content. I don’t know if it will matter but hey. It will be nice here and I get to keep some things separate.

Anyone with any ideas on building income so I can worry less about work and more about sites would be welcome.

One of the things this may make me do on Darkscribes at least is reevaluate how the basic setup is. It’s a chance to clean up what I’d been doing and go from there. I hope at least. I can at least migrate all the users from the current database into clean database, preventing freakouts when it comes to things such as passwords and the like.

I can also remigrate in the story pages without much work no problem, though they all still need human eyes placed on them. This will also give me the chance to streamline some things, I hope at least. It will make life a bit easier in the long run development wise if I try to at least get things a bit… easier.

DhampirDreams.com will end up with some more original stories up here at some point. I’m going to update some fanfics here in a few weeks as Darkscribes gets to a point where it can be concidered online. I’m also going to try at least once I get back to where I was to get the old PHPBB database migrated over. If anything it will provide us with more forum content, even if the users are long gone.

Also reading Hunger Games on Amazon Kindle. I’ll probably go through it shortly or something like it. Frankly I love the amazon kindle setup. I prefer it to the Apple iPad setup frankly. But that’s me.

I’m also considering new development for the Imperium Nocturna storyline, possible new content and things of that sort. I’ll be building up that content as well as some more original content as well. At least in my spare time. I’ve got some thoughts on how to build up the content for everything but not much free time to do it in.

I’m back to working on Darkscribes now.

Looking at some other sites, I have a bit of an idea for how to build some of the module code that would be used for the node upload module I need to create. I have no idea how this will work in general however and will be asking for help. I need to be able to filter out crap from word html and the like. but it might be best if the system first takes the datafile, and then programatically creates the node. It’s a thought. That way I could keep things going a bit clearly. Not sure.

Banner Images for the Darkscribes site are difficult to figure out, but are coming along. I have a nice basic banner setup, and will hopefully have something for Darkscribes and DhampirDreams facebook pages as I go, not sure yet.

I’m getting better as I go learning Drupal. I’m starting to understand how to create custom pages of content which I need for the user profile pages. I’m going to enter in some basic information for myself and try to create some more information. I need a view to take care of a lot of things, but it’s going. Slow but still going. I just hope with all the taxonomies I’ve added to content that search will be easier. No idea yet.

Hunger Games has been the only entertainment thing I’ve heard about all week. I’m not sure I like the concept, but frankly I’ll buy the books first then wait for the movies on DVD/Blu-Ray.

I’ve been trying to think on story ideas of the original variety but I’ve had nothing really come up yet. I need to do something on that one. I’m also going to try to get some more stories into the database this weekend while also writing on my own, no idea if I’ll actually make any progress but who knows.

Eventually I want to make it so all my DD posts end up on Darkscribes as Blog posts. I’ll check with the folk in the Freenode #Drupal chatroom. Any recommendations for community features to investigate would be appreciated.
